Dr Polyakov was my Obstetrician during the pregnancy and birth of both of my girls. I was extremely happy with his service and professionalism. Alex and his team were AMAZING !!! My pregnancy took an unexpected turn at 21week when we went to do the ultrasound , my celvix started to open up so Alex put the stiches in on the same day , I felt so safe in this scary situation and I felt that Im in the best hands , after that I had to be on bed rest , 10 weeks later my baby decided to come earlier , my contractions started after the stiches were removed ( because my water broke and they had to take them out ) , Alex came back to do the cesarean , and again it wasn’t planned but it felt like no matter what, they are there and will do everything for us ! I can’t recommend enough and Im so grateful that I found Alex ! I also really like that he is really straightforward, and he really knows what he is doing ! My husband and I are forever grateful to Alex who was our ivf doctor as well as my obstetrician through both my pregnancies. Having gone through infertility and previously being unsuccessful in our ivf journey with another doctor, we were both quite anxious to continue the ivf process after deciding to change doctors, however we felt at ease with Alex straight away. Alex changed the treatment plan from our previous doctor and we ended up with several good quality embryos and both embryo implantations were successful on the first go. Before when we came to Alex, we already had 4 cycles with another IVF clinic without success. The thing was, with that clinic, I’ve gone through all kinds of tests and different combinations of medications, and the doctor was not able to identify the cause, instead she just pushed us trying another cycle. After the 4th time, I was almost convinced that I was not able to have kids and was ready to live my life without a kid. I knew how much my husband wanted a kid and a family, I even asked him to go find someone else so he can live a normal life. After a long chat, we decided to give it one last go, and that’s when we found Alex. Straight away he pointed out where my issue was. And after some futher exams and procedures, and trying the 5th time, now I have a baby crying in my arm. When we reflect on the whole experience, I feel like there must be so many couples out there who are struggling. And that’s why I wanted to share my personal story and let people know that do not fall for the celebrity doctors’ fame – whether they call themselves fertility queen or king (I did for the first 4 cycles unfortunately), and those IVF queen/king that spend a lot of money in marketing and advertising for themselves, because there are so many good doctors out there, who are spending their time doing the real work helping couples like us achieve their dreams. I recently underwent a hysterectomy procedure with Dr Alex Polyakov in July 2024. The thought of getting the surgery done was daunting, but thanks to Dr. Alex, who took the time to listen, understand, and acknowledge my concerns. The way he explained the entire process reassured me that I'm going to have a pain-free and quality life after the surgery. His entire team, Naomi and Debra, are worth mentioning. They were prompt and helpful during each of my visits and phone conversations. My recovery after the surgery was great with minimal pain in the incisions, and I was able to get back to work within 6 weeks. There was some unexpected scenario that came up during the surgery and Dr. Alex was prompt enough to act on it and make certain decisions.Although it was beyond his jurisdiction he guided me accordingly for the required actions to be taken going forward.There are no second thoughts when I say, he is "The Best" in his profession. Dr Alex took care of me and my miracle baby. I had been in the public system where my reports were read wrongly and i was asked to be ready to make a decision regarding termination! I have seen Dr Alex since 2019 and had decided to get his opinion after being told to think of termination at 2 seperate hospitals. Dr Alex saw me immediately and after a few tests was able to help me throughout my pregnancy. He was able to put me at ease and I was able to trust that he will look after me and my baby. I had a fibroid removal surgery with doctor and it was a success I highly recommend Dr Alex as he is very thorough in this area and patients are in excellent hands. Further at the doctors office Ms Naomi is a delightful person to dealt with and she is absolutely kind and very thoughtful!!
My GP recommended Dr Polyakov as a result of his reputation, and we experienced amazing and competent care from his whole team during our IVF journey. Many thanks to the nursing team, Naomi and Debra who are front of house, and kudos to their adoption of the Genea app, which made appointments, reminders, medication and instructions so accessible and user friendly. Dr Polyakov is excellent and direct and we appreciated his communication style, which is succinct and warm.

Alex was the right amount of relaxed but informative for me and my pregnancy. He answered questions when asked, guided when required and didn't induce any stress. He was very respectful of my birthing choices and never pushed a preference for either option. At the end, my baby was delivered as an elective c-section and it was the most wonderful and pleasant experience, made so by Alex and the support team he works with.
Janette was fantastic as a secondary point of contact. She was always very responsive and calming when I had the most stupid questions. It was great to have a midwife on Alex's service for those times you didn't want to bother the doctor.
Naomi and Deb were always warm, to welcoming and obliging whenever I attended appointments or needed help with the admin side of things.
Overall, a wonderful team that provided a great experience from conception to birth and beyond. If we ever decided to have another baby, I would not hesitate to try to get on Alex's service again.

Dr Polyakov’s medical knowledge knows no bounds. Dr Polyakov was our obstetrician for our first baby. Getting pregnant for the first time can be a daunting process for both the mother and father, however each time we saw Dr Polyakov for our regular check ups, he was always very calm, always re-assured us everything was going well and made us feel like we were his only patients. He was available for phone calls, even for the most simple of queries/concerns, and never made my wife and I feel like we were asking too much. I cannot recommend Dr Polyakov more. Dr Polyakov is undoubtedly the best doctor out there. He delivered my first baby via c-section and I could not recommend him more. Him and his team provided ongoing support and care throughout my entire pregnancy. My C-section was incredibly smooth and I had a very easy recovery no doubt because of Dr Polyakov’s care. I cannot speak highly enough about our experience. All process from day one was smooth and reassuring, making us confident, hopeful and truly cared for. We had regular check-ups and combined medical decisions from the IVF steps to the method of delivery.
His office staff (two amazing secretaries!) were also always efficient and available to answer questions, address concerns and provide support!

I had been with another IVF clinic before joining Dr Polyakov and Melbourne IVF. I moved as I felt I had no personal service and was just a number. I never seen the same nurse or doctor in all my cycles. We then decided to change and my GP recommended Alex. I have to say my experience was literally night and day! When I met Alex he told me he would do all my scans, collections and transfers and he did! The whole process was 1000 times less stressful. Which I firmly believe has led to our success! Alex is personable, he is efficient, he works on his days off, he responds to out of hours messages. Quite simply he is amazing. I trust his advice and he truly wants the best for his patients. Never sent me on a wild goose chase or some ridiculously expensive drug that just wouldn't work. I would highly recommend Alex whichever clinic he is with. Debra in his support team is equally amazing. She again responds out of hours when results are in. Emails for booking appointments which saves lengthy phone time whilst working and again is super caring. Do yourself a favour and switch to this team. The fact you get to see Alex 4 or 5 times through your cycle makes all the difference rather than fighting to speak to your specialist over a million phone calls whilst juggling your job. Dr Alex and his team have been wonderful in helping me with my Fibroids removal surgery. I recently had multiple fibroids removed via Laparoscopy and Dr Alex did a wonderful job performing my surgery which was a success. I highly recommend him to women who have fibroids and want to preserve their uterus. Thank you Dr Alex, I will definitely come back to you when I plan on having a baby. :)
